We use a technique called Guided Exploration to teach students second grade expectation for the use of materials in our classrooms. Last week, we explored Play Doh. Although students have used this material many times in the past, they learned and discussed the ways we can use it for learning, and take care of it this year. Students were challenged to show a way they could use Play Doh for writing, math or art. After playing with it for a while, we took a gallery walk to look at classmates' creations.
